William (Bill) Yahara, CPA, is a tax director with more than 16 years of experience focused on the alternative investment industry and partnership taxation. He serves hedge funds, fund of funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds, commodity funds, loan origination funds, and crypto funds. Bill provides clients with sound tax advice regarding complex financial products, tax structuring for fund formations, and other complex transactions. He also assist clients with tax estimate planning, assessing potential future impacts of tax reform, and other issues pertaining to his clients’ businesses. Before joining Weaver, Bill worked at two Big Four firms, a leading hedge fund administrator and a national accounting firm, at all of which he managed tax compliance for multiple clients ranging from emerging managers to some of the world’s largest asset managers.
Bill is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New Jersey Society of CPAs and the New York Society of CPAs. He earned a Master of Science in taxation from Fairleigh Dickinson University, an MBA with a concentration in finance from Montclair State University, and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Rutgers University.
