Jeff Matthews, CPA, CFE, brings substantial experience in financial investigations, forensic accounting and litigation support, spending many years practicing in Big Four accounting firms, as well as state, local and federal government entities. A Certified Fraud Examiner, he has led federal and state criminal violation investigations, including many types of fraud. He has also calculated damages resulting from breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, diminution of value and misappropriation of trade secrets. Prior to joining Weaver, Jeff was a director and partner for Grant Thornton.
As an active member of the Dallas Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), where he is a past president, Jeff was named the 2013 ACFE “Certified Fraud Examiner of the Year.” He is a four-time national All-Star speaker for the Institute of Internal Auditors and a national arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Jeff developed the inaugural class and currently teaches Forensic Accounting and Fraud Investigations at the University of Texas at Arlington for the Master of Business Administration degree program. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
