W.M. “Mack” Lawhon, CPA, has made a significant impact as a leader at Weaver. As the firm’s managing partner and CEO from 1986 – 2009, Mack led the firm during a time of significant growth, strategic change and people development. With more than four decades of public practice experience, he has worked with partnerships, individuals and estates to provide consulting in the areas of tax planning, estate planning, and partnership tax planning. Mack consistently represents and counsels clients across several industries. Mack leverages his extensive career and successful tenure by speaking on accounting firm management and technical topics to lay audiences. He is currently a Trustee of the Financial Accounting Foundation, which oversees the nation’s accounting standard setters – FASB and GASB.
As an active member of several professional industry associations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Rotary Club of Fort Worth and more, Mack continues to pave the way for the firm and the industry in relation to current trends, challenges and leaders in the industry. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southern Methodist University.
