Weaver’s Forensics and Litigation Team Deepens Northeast Presence with Addition of Joe Cashel, Managing Director

HOUSTON (July 7, 2025) – National accounting and advisory firm, Weaver, is pleased to announce that Joe Cashel, CTP, CIRA, has joined the firm as a managing director in its Forensics and Litigation Services practice, where he will lead the growth of the firm’s bankruptcy and restructuring capabilities. Based in New York City, Joe brings 25 years of experience advising distressed companies on financial and operational restructurings, committees of secured and unsecured creditors on recovery options, and legal counsel in both bankruptcy and litigation matters.
Joe has worked across a wide range of financial advisory and restructuring engagements in the consumer products, hospitality, pharmaceutical, IT services and manufacturing industries, amongst others. His background includes the preparation and analysis of business plans, cash flow projections and restructuring programs, as well as the evaluation of DIP financing, asset sales and competing bids. Joe also serves as an expert witness in complex bankruptcy claims litigation involving solvency and fraudulent conveyances, breach of fiduciary duty, plan feasibility, substantive consolidation and preferential transfers. His work also includes receivership and trustee services, providing independent oversight to help clients protect and recover value.

Prior to joining Weaver, Joe held managing director and senior leadership roles at nationally recognized advisory and accounting firms. Over the course of his career, He has testified in bankruptcy courts and other proceeding around the country and is a frequent speaker on bankruptcy litigation topics.
Joe is a certified turnaround professional (CTP) designated by the Turnaround Management Association and a certified insolvency and restructuring advisor (CIRA) within the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors. He is also a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI). Joe received an MBA in finance and management information systems and a bachelor’s degree in business management, both from Binghamton University.
