Weaver’s Mack Lawhon Receives TSCPA’s Top Service Award

W. M. “Mack” Lawhon, CPA and chairman of Weaver, the largest independent accounting firm in the Southwest, received the 2013-14 Meritorious Service Award to the Public Accounting Profession in Texas, the highest service award given by the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA). TSCPA presented this award at the organization’s Annual Meeting of Members on June 27, 2014, in Santa Fe, N. M. The TSCPA Fort Worth Chapter nominated Lawhon for this award and several colleagues wrote recommendations and endorsed him for this honor.

The TSCPA Meritorious Service Award is regarded as the highest honor bestowed by TSCPA and is not given every year. It is presented to an individual who has given outstanding service to the Society and their local chapter and who is a recognized leader of the organization, having served as a committee chair, officer and Board of Directors member. The recipient demonstrates exceptional leadership on a constant basis for a number of years during and possibly after their working career, as well as being a spokesperson for the profession through speeches and articles.
