Employees in San Antonio and elsewhere increasingly want and need to use their own smart phones, tablets or other mobile devices for work tasks, rather than relying upon computing hardware provided by employers. That trend of employees using personal mobile devices for work purposes is commonly known as BYOD (bring your own device). While accommodating BYOD can enhance workplace satisfaction and productivity, security complications associated with allowing employees to retain company information on personally-owned devices must be addressed.
