Detailed Description of Weaver’s Motor Fuels Tax Minute, Episode 39
00:00:00
Leanne: Welcome to Weaver’s Motor Fuels Tax Minute, the vlog where we talk all things motor fuel. This week we are going to go back to the basics, and Emilda is going to talk to us about Texas Dyed Diesel.
00:00:12
Emilda: Fun stuff Leanne. Dyed diesel. Well let me tell you a little bit about it in Texas. In Texas, a person or company must file a license to sell dyed diesel fuel. If an end user intends to purchase dyed diesel fuel, they must also be licensed as a Texas dyed diesel fuel bonded user or a Texas end user signed statement. It really literally depends on the monthly volume the user plans to use. There are monthly gallon limits for the state of Texas for an end user signed statement, and if a person or a company plans to exceed the monthly gallon limits, it’s going to be in their best interest to proceed with the Texas dyed diesel fuel bonded user license.

Kelly: Oh, that was a lot of good information. Thank you, Emilda.
We also talked a little bit about the dyed diesel and the federal requirements. Are there similar spec requirements for dyed diesel in Texas?
00:00:19
Emilda: Yeah. So you know sulfur content is important with dyed diesel. Federal government states that it’s 15 parts per million maximum. There are some exceptions to that. But typically states and federal follow the same requirements.
