John Mackel Appears on PlayMakers Talk Show
John Mackel, Managing Partner and CEO, recently appeared on Steve Klein’s PlayMakers Talk Show to discuss his experience, his role at Weaver and how he sees the future of the firm.
After joining Weaver in 2007 through the Houston merger with McDonald, Fox & Lund, PC, John led Weaver’s industry practice groups for five years. He also served as the partner-in-charge of the firm’s oil and gas practice and has been a member of Weaver’s executive committee since June of 2009.
Looking forward, John expects Weaver to experience the same growth it has seen over the past few years. Industry groups will continue to focus on their strengths in order double the size of the Texas practices and grow practices nationally within the next three to four years.
In his role as managing partner and CEO, John is focused on recruiting and retaining great talent. Weaver’s development program, relatively young partner age average and opportunities for growth have proven to be selling points for attracting new employees to Weaver. New culture initiatives such as a mentoring program, real-time feedback on current engagements and flexible work opportunities create a professional environment that young people are seeking in the job market.
