David Wanis brings over 27 years of experience to Weaver’s Tax Transaction practice, and has an extensive background in tax consulting, operations, compliance and integration. His work includes both localized and cross-border transactions and corporate tax planning issues, spanning from inception to day-to-day to exit considerations. He has been involved in numerous US-based go-public and take-private transactions, has spearheaded the expansion of an M&A practice, and advised clients on strategic cross-border locational planning, integrating tax considerations seamlessly with broader US and non-US advisory insights.
He is also responsible for the development of pioneering tax analysis templates that optimize corporate compliance and reporting processes. David has worked with a wide array of organizations, ranging from corporate Fortune 100 corporations to start-ups as well as large and mid-sized private equity firms. He consults on technical issues for various industries, including technology, manufacturing, distribution & retail and financial services.
David earned his Master of Laws in taxation from New York University, his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Golden Gate University and his Bachelor of Arts in economics and political science from Yale University.
