Michael (Mike) Loritz, CPA, has nearly 30 years of public accounting experience in audit and accounting. At Weaver, he advances audit quality, methodology and innovation across the firm’s quality risk management group and is an integral part of the engagement quality review process with a focus on financial services entities. Throughout his career, he has focused on auditing and strategic advisory for accounting and financial reporting, with a focus on the application of U.S. GAAP, auditing standards and regulatory compliance. Mike has also has significant experience in internal processes and controls improvements and risk management, both internal and external. Mike has extensive and varied audit experience, working for diversified financial services entities (both private and SEC registrants) ranging from Fortune 500 entities to community banking and finance institutions and investment funds. Mike has a deep understanding of complex financial instrument, fair value, derivatives, stock-based compensation, investment accounting and risk management topics. He has 14 years of Big Four firm expereince where he was national firm instructor on audit methodology and has served as the national practice leader for technical accounting and auditing, methodology and innovation for a top 10 CPA firm.
Mike is a certified public accountant (CPA) in Missouri, Kansas and Hawaii, as well as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration and a Master of Accountancy from Kansas State University.
