Intern Spotlight: Meet Amanda
At Weaver, we value opportunities for growth. For hundreds of students over the years, a Weaver internship is where education, training and practice have all come together. We provide interesting projects, diverse clients, friendly colleagues, exceptional mentors and an environment that encourages life-long learning and exploration of your professional interests. Whether one’s interest lies in assurance, tax, advisory services or other specific areas, an internship can be the first step in finding that right fit.
Through an internship with Weaver, student employees gain practical experience in a variety of industries and receive valuable face time with seasoned professionals who provide hands-on training and coaching. We offer training and development for our interns to better help them understand and prepare for all aspects of their careers. And, of course, we provide great opportunities to socialize with other Weaver interns and professionals.

Tell us about your first day (or week) at Weaver:
- My first week at Weaver I was nervous because I was afraid that I would not know how to do the work required of me since I had never worked for an accounting firm before. However, I realized that everyone is very encouraging and told me not to be afraid to ask questions when I needed help, or was stuck on something. When I would get stuck on an assignment, or was unsure of how to go about it, there was no hesitation from anyone when I asked for help. They seemed happy to help me which was reassuring, and made me less nervous about being “the new person.”
What was the best part of your first week?
- The best part of my first week was realizing that I do contribute value to the firm, even as an intern. I was nervous that I would not know how to do anything since I’ve never worked for an accounting firm, however I quickly found out that I could do much of the intern level work. For tasks that I did not know how to do and had to ask for help, I found that as long as I was willing to learn, I got along just fine.
