Weaver Grows Tax Practice with New Director, Jesse Goforth

HOUSTON (January 13, 2026) — National accounting and advisory firm, Weaver, is pleased to announce that Jesse Goforth, CPA, has joined its Tax practice as a director. Based in Houston, Jesse has more than 16 years of experience in corporate tax, ASC 740 and tax accounting process improvements for large multinational organizations.

Jesse’s background includes leading ASC 740 teams, managing multiple compliance and reporting workstreams and supporting multinational organizations through tax accounting challenges and PCAOB inspections. Throughout his career, he has also focused on enhancing income tax provision preparation, streamlining tax accounting processes and strengthening collaboration between assurance and tax functions.

Prior to joining Weaver, Jesse served as a managing director in a national accounting firm’s corporate tax services group, where he led the local ASC 740 team and served as the primary liaison between assurance and tax professionals. Earlier in his career, he spent more than a decade at a Big Four firm in business tax services and global compliance and reporting.

Jesse earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting and finance and a Master of Accountancy from Abilene Christian University. He is also a certified public accountant in the state of Texas.
