Weaver Staff Attends "Shades of Blue" at The Parenting Center
On March 28th, 2016, Weaver staff joined The Parenting Center’s “Shades of Blue” event to raise awareness of child abuse and its direct impact on Tarrant County, home to our Fort Worth office. Weaver’s own Brad Jay, Partner-in-Charge of Manufacturing, Distribution and Retail Services, was selected as one of six community leaders to serve as the face of the event. Brad has worked with The Parenting Center for eight years and currently serves on the Parent’s Advisory Council.
Participants, including Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price, marked the fence of The Parenting Center with blue handprints, representing a commitment to end child abuse, and 6,213 blue pinwheels were dropped from the roof, each filled with encouraging words for families. The event took place just as Child Abuse Prevention Month launched in April, spreading hope and awareness to families in Tarrant County.
“There are a lot of charitable organizations that do great work, but The Parenting Center is one that truly is changing lives and equipping parents with the necessary skills needed to raise their families and to help end a vicious cycle of abuse and neglect that so many face today. It is and will continue to be an honor to be associated with such a worthwhile and difference-making organization,” said Brad.
At Weaver we are dedicated to the communities in which we work and live, seeking opportunities to support those organizations that make a difference in our community. The Parenting Center, established in 1975, aims to provide family members and professionals with the tools, resources and services to build successful families.
