Cody Quimby, CPA, has more than a decade of experience in corporate and partnership taxation. He is dedicated to supporting businesses in strategic tax solutions for diverse industries, with a particular focus on energy and capital markets. He has worked closely with public corporations and private equity-backed enterprises on compliance, ASC 740 provisions, ensuring compliance with GAAP and SEC reporting requirements and complex transactional matters.
His corporate tax compliance experience includes subchapter C planning, earnings and profits calculations. He also has deep knowledge in section 382 limitations on net operating losses, advising non-U.S. investors on the use of blocker C corporations to mitigate effectively connected income (ECI) exposure and U.S. tax filing obligations and advising on U.S. withholding tax issues for distributions. He has extensive experience with partnership and joint venture transactional and compliance matters, including issues specific to private equity funds and portfolio companies, section 704(c) matters, debt workouts, cash-and-carry transactions, mixing bowl matters, section 751(a) and various other matters.
Cody is an active member of the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), maintaining strong connections within the state’s accounting and business community. Cody received both a Master of Accountancy and Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from the University of Oklahoma. He holds dual CPA licensure in Oklahoma and Texas.
