Brian O’Neal brings over 25 years in market operations, analytics, asset optimization and commodity risk management to Weaver’s Advisory Services practice. He has global industry experience in multiple asset classes, commodity markets and value chain across the U.S., Europe and Asia. As Partner, Brian works to optimize portfolio value and improve trading operations, drawing from his extensive background in professional services and energy trading.
Before joining Weaver, Brian gained over 20 years of experience at a Big Four firm, in which he led strategic initiatives across the energy sector, financial services, agribusiness and industrial manufacturing. He oversaw the trading operations service line and served as the North American lead partner for a global integrated oil company. His work included trading risk governance, commodity hedging strategy, model risk management, systems optimization and energy data analytics. He also founded Eco Risk Markets, a business process outsourcing firm focused on energy risk management. He also held trading positions at El Paso Merchant Energy and Intergulf Corporation, managing both physical assets and financial derivative positions.
Brian earned a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from Rice University and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Texas.
