Katharine Johnston

Katharine Johnston, CPA, CHFP, has more than 15 years of public accounting experience, and serves as director for audit and assurance engagements, focsuing on the health care industry. She also works with a variety of health care organizations, including specialty service providers, physician-owned and private equity backed practices, critical access and PPS hospital facilities, health systems and government-owned hospitals.

Katharine also works with clients in the commercial, not-for-profit organizations, and government industires. She plans and directs financial statement audits in accordance with governmental auditing standards and single audits meeting the requirements of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Uniform Guidance.

Katharine is a member of Weaver’s National Audit and Advisory Office. She provides clients with technical guidance where her experience includes conducting consulting projects under GASB and FASB, including the adoption of new accounting standards and specific reporting requirements for health care and not-for-profit organizations, compliance and reporting requirements under various COVID programs, and patient accounts receivable and allowance valuation models for hospitals and other health care organizations. She also conducts trainings, webinars and speaking engagements for accounting updates and relevant industry topics.

Katharine is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA) and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). Katharine earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in fiance and a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Central Oklahoma.
