Nathalie Hoffman

Nathalie Hoffman, JD, MBA, has consulted for clients on California’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS), since its inception in 2011 and is accredited by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) as an LCFS Verifier. She leads Weaver’s LCFS consulting practice, providing assistance to alternative fuels producers in connection with LCFS strategy, fuel pathway development and fuel pathway applications, working with Weaver’s LCFS technical team to calculate pathways’ carbon intensities and create production facilities’ Monitoring Plans. Post-pathway certification, Nathalie assists alternative fuels producers with their reporting requirements. As part of these services, Nathalie regularly interfaces with the CARB staff on her clients’ behalf.  She also provides training in the LCFS program.

Nathalie lived in Brazil and is a fluent Portuguese speaker and writer, with substantial experience in Brazilian biofuels. Before joining Weaver, she was a project finance transactions partner of corporate law firm, Sidley Austin, and founded and served as CEO of a company developing a utility-scale renewable energy project in California.

Nathalie is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Biogas Council and Co-Chair of its Agriculture Committee. She earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from the University of Michigan, a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Law and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. She has more been a member of the California Bar for more than 30 years. Nathalie lives in Los Angeles, with easy access to CARB’s offices in Sacramento.
