Sara Dempsey

Sara Dempsey, CPA, who leads Weaver’s practice serving governmental and not-for-profit entities, has 17 years of public accounting experience. A member of the AICPA State and Local Government Expert Panel, she leads engagement teams performing financial statement audits and single audits for municipalities, school districts, higher education, utilities and not-for-profits. Sara also serves on the Special Review Committee for the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), demonstrating her understanding of that organization’s Certificate of Achievement requirements as well as the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TXCPA) Professional Standards Committee.

Sara is an active local member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the GFOA. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Texas State University.
