Weaver Appoints Wade Watson as National Practice Leader, Energy Compliance Services

HOUSTON (June 23, 2026) — Weaver, a national accounting and advisory firm, has appointed Wade Watson, CPA, CFE, as national practice leader of Energy Compliance Services (ECS). In this role, Watson will lead the firm’s ECS practice as it becomes a standalone national practice within Weaver.
Watson has played a key role in the growth and evolution of ECS, helping expand the practice’s capabilities and service offerings while building strong client relationships across the energy industry. Under his leadership, ECS has grown into a multidisciplinary practice that supports organizations with compliance, regulatory, operational and technology-related challenges.

As a national practice leader, Watson will oversee the strategic direction and continued growth of ECS while working closely with leaders across the firm to deliver integrated solutions for energy clients.

Watson has more than two decades of experience in public accounting, advising organizations on compliance, reporting and operational matters. Watson will continue working alongside Ashley Player, partner-in-charge of ECS technical services; Mike Stein, partner-in-charge of ECS regulatory consulting services; Steve Schwarzbach, partner-in-charge of ECS assurance services; and Leanne Sobel, partner-in-charge of ECS motor fuels and excise tax services.
