Weaver Strengthens Public Sector Practice with Addition of Audit Director Eric J. Forkner

HOUSTON (September 30, 2026) — National accounting and advisory firm, Weaver, is pleased to announce that Eric J. Forkner, CPA, has joined the firm as an audit director in its Public Sector practice. Based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Forkner joins Weaver’s virtual office and brings more than 30 years of public accounting experience. He has served higher education institutions, health care providers and payors, foundations, and large state and local government organizations, with deep experience in financial reporting, internal controls and Uniform Guidance compliance.

Forkner previously began his public accounting career at Weaver, where he advanced from audit associate to senior associate and later audit manager during his five years with the firm. During that time, he managed external audits for higher education institutions, local government entities and manufacturing companies, helping clients meet applicable standards and delivering clear, actionable findings.

In his recent role as audit partner with a Big Four accounting firm, Forkner led major audit engagements and managed teams of professionals while providing technical accounting guidance and strategic insights to executive leadership and governance stakeholders. He also developed audit and compliance training for more than 700 professionals and served as a speaker for several professional organizations.

Forkner earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Abilene Christian University and is a licensed certified public accountant (CPA) in Pennsylvania.
