Detailed Description of Weaver’s Motor Fuels Tax Minute, Episode 108
00:00:00
Leanne: Welcome to Weaver’s Motor Fuel Tax Minute, the vlog where we talk all things motor fuel.
Our team has been growing here at Weaver, and if you track us, keep up with us on LinkedIn or work with us, you’ll be seeing and hearing new faces, seeing new names on emails.
00:00:15
Leanne: We wanted to make sure to introduce everybody. Today, we’re joined by one of our three fabulous new associates, De’sha Suber.
De’sha, welcome to Weaver. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
00:00:27
De’sha: My previous job was industry sales tax. I have my most recent background as that, and I also did some financial reporting, budgeting and then some property tax.
And now I am based in our Oklahoma City office.
00:00:46
Kelly: Excellent. And what has been your favorite part so far about joining Weaver?
00:00:52
De’sha: I think my favorite thing has been learning about so many different companies and just learning about fuel tax, since I’ve never worked in fuel tax before this. I didn’t know there was so much to learn.
00:01:04
De’sha: And so, I think it’s just keeping me on my toes — feels fresh. There’s always something new to learn. So that’s been my favorite part.
And it’s cool working with so many different people and companies.
00:01:15
Leanne: Oh, and we love having you on the team as well. And, yeah, fuel tax, something different every single day.
So, just to close us out, tell us a fun fact about yourself.
00:01:26
De’sha: I was thinking about this. I think the fun fact about me is I was actually vegan for, like, eight or nine years. Random little fact.
00:01:34
Kelly: That is fun. And that is a challenge, to say the least.
00:01:37
De’sha: Yes.
00:01:37
Kelly: I know. I love cheese and eggs — all the stuff.
00:01:41
De’sha: Yeah. It was interesting because I went from eating meat with every meal to just kind of going cold turkey when I was 19.
00:01:51
Kelly: That is awesome. Well, thank you so much for joining us for this week’s Motor Fuel Tax Minute.
