Detailed Description of Weaver’s Motor Fuels Tax Minute, Episode 109
00:00:00
Kelly: Welcome to this week’s Motor Fuel Tax Minute, the vlog where we talk all things motor fuels.
As Leanne mentioned in our previous podcast, we are having a lot of new associates joining us.
00:00:11
Kelly: So today, we wanted to introduce you to Khalyl. Welcome, Khalyl.
00:00:16
Khalyl: Hi. Happy to be here.
00:00:17
Kelly: Tell us a little bit about yourself.
00:00:18
Khalyl: Sure thing. My name is Khalyl. I’m located in Houston, Texas.
And prior to joining Weaver, I did software engineering for roughly two years.
00:00:29
Leanne: Well, we are very excited to have a software engineer as part of our team specifically. You know, we do a lot of IT work in Weaver generally, but motor fuel tax is fast-evolving with software and AI.
So having somebody that understands a lot of that is great.
00:00:44
Leanne: You’ve been with us a few months. What do you like best about being at Weaver?
00:00:48
Khalyl: One of the things I love about Weaver is that a big part of it is that they have a focus in investing in people. And I have had a blast working with my team so far, and I like that my work is valued here. And I feel like I brought immense value to my team.
So that’s a huge aspect of why I love working here.
00:01:07
Kelly: And I love that answer, Khalyl, because I agree we have an amazing team. We’re all very close despite sitting in different places around the U.S. We’ve definitely all managed to build quite a bond.
So, tell us a fun fact about yourself, Khalyl.
00:01:20
Khalyl: Sure. So recently, I kind of have my own personal Spotify or Netflix. I have my own server at home.
00:01:29
Khalyl: So I have a lot of movies and TV shows and music on there so I can watch whatever I have on the go or things like that. And I also like to collect physical media, namely vinyl records.
So that’s one of the hobbies that I have.
00:01:43
Leanne: Well, that is very cool and something a little bit different as well. Well, thank you for joining us, Khalyl.
00:01:49
Leanne: For everybody watching, you’ll probably be hearing from Khalyl and seeing his name on emails and articles and other podcasts as time goes on.
That was this week’s Motor Fuel Tax Minute. Join us next time.
