Kelly: Welcome to this week’s Motor Fuels Tax Minute, where we talk all things motor fuel. Today, we have a special guest, Nicolas Leal, who is going to talk to us a little bit about AI.

Kelly: We know AI is up-and-coming. People are saying it’s going to change everything. Some people are saying it’s going to be a big bust.
What are your thoughts on AI? How do you think it can bring some improvements to our team and maybe to some of our clients?

Nicolas: I think it’s a great opportunity to help reevaluate the current workflow of things. There’s an old saying, “Measure twice, cut once.” And I do think AI is able to help create different opportunities or different plans that you can enact.

Nicolas: And so, it’s a really good way to get a little bit more of an open perspective on how to go about certain topics, certain issues, or certain problems you’re encountering, and then troubleshooting from there and seeing which one is more optimal, or which one is more plausible given your situation.

Kelly: Absolutely. I can tell you my least favorite thing about AI is it gets a little snippy sometimes when I tell it it’s wrong. It used to be really polite in the beginning, and now it’s getting a little attitude. But what I would love to hear is: What is your favorite thing so far that you’ve learned about AI?

Nicolas: My favorite thing so far has definitely been its ability to help navigate certain topics. Like with the planning and being able to give you some different perspectives, being able to get a little bit more of a broader starting point has been really beneficial.

Nicolas: Of course, you always have to be careful with the validity of what’s being said. And so always cross-checking and making sure that you’re verifying the sources from which everything originates is extremely important. For the most part, the utility that it can bring is a huge time-saver when it comes to trying to get a little bit more of an optimized workflow in a good rhythm.
