Detailed Description of Weaver’s Motor Fuels Tax Minute, Episode 26
00:00:00
Emilda: Welcome to Weaver’s Motor Fuels Tax Minute, where we speak all things motor fuels. Today we would like to introduce one of our team members, Senior Associate Bryan Ruwaldt.
Good morning and thank you for joining us today.
00:00:13
Bryan: Good morning. Thanks for having me.
00:00:17
Kelly: Bryan, can you tell us a little bit about yourself, maybe even a fun anecdote?
00:00:22
Bryan: I’ve been with Weaver for about two and a half years and Emilda pulled me into the Motor Fuels team from SALT, sales and use tax. Prior to that, I was an auditor for the Texas Comptroller for ten years, focusing on sales tax and motor fuels tax audits.
As far as fun anecdotes go, I’ve got three kids that keep me pretty busy outside of work. We just recently had an exotic animal birthday party for my four-year-old and he got to hold a baby kangaroo. He loved that.
00:00:57
Kelly: Oh man, I’m pretty jealous!
Bryan, you said Emilda pulled you into motor fuel tax. We all know there’s not a lot of convincing needed to join, but what have you found that you enjoyed most about motor fuels tax?
00:01:10
Bryan: Well, number one is our team. I think we’ve got a great team. I do love working with y’all all the time. But motor fuels itself is fun and interesting and it’s constantly changing, so it keeps the job interesting. I enjoy it.
00:01:28
Leanne: Before we sign off, I want to know how you feel about being the only man among a sea of women here on Weaver’s Motor Fuel Tax Minute.
00:01:36
Bryan: I’m actually fine with it. I like it!
00:01:42
Leanne: Well, thanks for coming on, Bryan. It’s nice for other people who watch to put a face to the name that they see on emails.
That was this week’s Motor Fuels Tax Minute. Join us next time!
