Weaver Grows Northeast Presence with GRC Partner Shabbir Hassanali

HOUSTON (June 30, 2026) – National accounting and advisory firm Weaver is pleased to announce that Shabbir Hassanali, CPA, has joined the firm as a partner in its Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) practice. Based in New York, Shabbir will serve clients across the Northeast region and nationally.
Shabbir brings more than 15 years of experience helping organizations strengthen control environments, manage risk, and build scalable compliance programs that support growth and stakeholder confidence. He works closely with executive leadership teams to align GRC efforts with broader business objectives, advising organizations ranging from high‑growth companies to large, accelerated filers on governance, controls and risk management across financial, operational and technology environments.

Prior to joining Weaver, Shabbir served as a partner at a national public accounting firm where he led national third‑party assurance and IT risk assurance offerings, including SOC reporting, HITRUST, IT audits and assessments, and third‑party risk management. Throughout his career, he has built and scaled GRC offerings while leading complex engagements and national and global initiatives.

Shabbir is a certified public accountant (CPA) licensed in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and holds the certified information systems auditor (CISA), certified information technology professional (CITP) and HITRUST certified CSF practitioner (CCSFP) credentials. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in accounting and finance from Drexel University.
