John Ruckstuhl, CPA, has 20 years leading due diligence engagements for middle market private equity, growth equity, venture capital, alternative lenders and strategic clients. He has extensive experience across a broad range of industries and has advised clients completing buy and sell-side transactions and lender financings. In this capacity, he has experience analyzing quality of earnings, evaluating working capital requirements, identifying debt-like items, examining carve-out and stand-alone cost assumptions, negotiating purchase price adjustment mechanisms and reviewing purchase and sale agreements.
A certified public accountant, John began his career in the audit practice at a Big Four firm before transitioning to M&A advisory, working with large and middle market accounting and professional services firms. He has also served as the controller of a global provider of relocation management services, in which he was responsible for all aspects of financial reporting, compliance and treasury management. John is an active member of the Exit Planning Exchange (XPX), Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA). He also has served on the board of several not-for-profit entities. John earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting and financial management from Bucknell University.
