A large metal fabricator in business for more than 40 years
The Challenge
After significant turnover during the COVID-19 pandemic, the company’s accounting team was stretched thin. Legacy systems relied on paper reconciliations and manual data transfers between spreadsheets. The month-end close dragged on for 35-40 days, leaving management without timely financial information to guide decisions.
The Process
Weaver’s accounting advisory services (AAS) team led the initiative to modernize and stabilize the client’s accounting processes. AAS evaluated close procedures, identified manual bottlenecks and recommended system improvements. Working with Weaver’s digital transformation and automation team, AAS implemented a cloud-based accounting suite and designed technology-enabled workflows to standardize reconciliations and recurring tasks. Throughout implementation, AAS provided accounting oversight, staff training and process documentation to ensure the system supported accurate, GAAP-compliant reporting.
The Deliverables
Month-end close time dropped by roughly 30 days and is now completed by the 10th of each month. The client gained faster, more reliable financial reporting and a modernized accounting function that is efficient, resilient and less dependent on manual processes.
