Emilda Santiesteban has more than 21 years of experience in complex fuel excise and sales and use tax matters. Before joining Weaver, Emilda served as a tax manager for a Fortune 500 petroleum refinery company. Her career focus has been minimizing overpayments, tax return compliance outsourcing, audit defense and related audit consulting services, tax due diligence, maximizing benefits of client reporting as well as identifying planning opportunities to help minimize fuels and excise tax liabilities. Her strong background in fuel excise and sales and use tax for downstream oil and gas organizations has managed tax matters and returns related to multiple refineries, fuel terminals and pipelines. Emilda's areas of focus include licensing requirements and registrations for state and federal taxes as well as taxability for new business activity and fuel movements.
Emilda is a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT), the Federation of Tax Administrators (FTA), the Women's Energy Network, and the American Petroleum Institute (API). She earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Keller University and a Master of Business Administration from Lamar University.
